Chhaava: Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna’s film is unstoppable; mints ₹326 crore in India

Chhaava features the valorous story based on Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi novel.

Laxman Utekar’s historic action movie Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles, was released on February 14 and is currently in its second week of release. According to Sacnilk, the movie has made ₹326.75 crore at the box office.

According to the website, the movie earned ₹40 crore on its second Sunday, bringing its total earnings in India to ₹326.75 crore net, based on preliminary projections. With earnings of ₹37 crore and ₹48.5 crore on its first weekend, it did well as well. After earning ₹219.25 crore net in its first week in India with a solid ₹31 crore net opening, the movie doesn’t appear to be slowing down. On its second Friday, it brought in ₹23.5 crore net, up 9.30% from ₹21.5 crore on Thursday, and on its second Saturday, it brought in ₹44 crore, up 87.23%.

He wrote, “No more an ‘Unsung’ Hero! Thank you everyone… Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj ki Jai.”

In an emotional Instagram post, Vicky thanked the audience for their enthusiasm in learning more about Sambhaji Maharaj. He thanked them for their affection and expressed his happiness that Sambhaji was no longer considered a “unsung hero.”

Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also gave Chhaava a mention. Speaking at the 98th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan on Friday at Delhi’s Vigyan Bhavan, he stated, “Ye Maharashtra aur Mumbai hi hai jisne Marathi filmo ke saath saath, Hindi cinema ko ye unchai di hai. Aur in dino toh, Chhaava ki dhoom machi hui hai. (Maharashtra and Mumbai have elevated Hindi cinema and Marathi films. And these days, Chhaava is making waves).”

Chhaava also stars Diana Penty, Divya Dutta, and Ashutosh Rana in important roles.
