PM Modi lauds sanitation workers, police for efforts at Maha Kumbh
Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday appreciated the hard work and dedication of sanitation and cleanliness workers deployed at the Maha Kumbh, as well as the relentless efforts of security personnel in ensuring the safety of the mela area during the world's largest religious congregation.
Since Jan 12, according to the state govt, 62 crore devotees have taken a holy dip in the Sangam area of Prayagraj to soak in the religious festivities. As many attendees may not realise the extensive efforts behind organising the mela, Modi, during his address, urged the public to acknowledge the contributions of sanitation workers and police personnel.
"Among those who visited Prayagraj during the Kumbh and interacted with me, many have openly lauded and appreciated the exceptional work being done by cleanliness and sanitation workers. I respectfully acknowledge their efforts and bow before them (main adar purvak unko naman karta hun)," he said while addressing a crowd in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, on Sunday afternoon.
He added that those who attended the Kumbh are also expressing their gratitude, respect, and appreciation for the policemen deployed at the mela. "Policemen have worked like saints on the ground. They have handled people from various parts of the country with politeness. The men in uniform have won the hearts of the people. Their work, too, needs to be recognised," he said.
While security personnel remained vigilant throughout the day to manage crowds, sanitation workers played a crucial role in maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in the mela area.
