3 of family arrested for sexual abuse of teen in Adilabad

Hyderabad: Three members of a family, including a woman, were arrested by the Adilabad police on Saturday for allegedly sexually abusing a15-year-old girl, who is a person with learning difficulties. A case was registered against them under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
After the incident came to light, tension prevailed in Adilabad town, leading to police deploying forces to avoid any untoward incident. The offence came to light by accident.
Recently, the minor girl was taken to the hospital by her parents for an ailment. She was admitted to the hospital, and during a medical examination, doctors found that the patient was violated. When her family members were informed about the sexual abuse, they suspected the role of their neighbour. When police took her neighbour — a father and son — into their custody, they discovered that both abused the girl on different occasions. Both families knew each other.
"Taking advantage of the fact that the teenager has learning difficulties, they abused her multiple times in the last six months," police said. Police arrested both the father and son, as well as the latter's wife, who thrashed the victim.
