AISF protests against Union Minister’s remarks on education policy

Updated - February 23, 2025 06:27 pm IST - TIRUCHI

Members of the All India Students’ Federation (AISF) staged a protest in Tiruchi on Sunday, condemning Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for linking disbursal of Samagrah Shiksha funds to the implementation of the National Education Policy and three-language formula.

The protest was held in front of the Communist Party of India (CPI) office, in front of the Government Medical College, under the leadership of AISF district coordinator M. Jayalani.

AISF Tamil Nadu president K. Ibrahim, State secretary P. Dinesh, and Youth Federation State secretary K. Bharathi addressed the gathering. They criticised the Union Minister’s remarks on making NEP mandatory for funding and raised slogans opposing the Centre’s approach.

The protesters asserted that Tamil Nadu would continue to resist policies that they claimed would undermine the State’s education system and linguistic rights.
