Madikeri: Following the court's interim stay order on the dress-code issue in Kattemadu Sri Mahamrityunjaya Mahadeshwara temple, four Kodavas visited the temple in traditional Kodava attire on Thursday. Karnataka Kodava Sahitya Academy member Chotteyanda Sanju Kaverappa, Kambeyada Deena Bojanna, chief of Jabboomi charitable trust Palengada Amit Bhimaiah, and Kodavame Kondata organisation's Ajjamakkada Vinu Kushalappa visited the temple in traditional Kodava attire and offered prayers. The members of the temple management committee objected the entry of devotees visiting the temple in traditional Kodava attire, citing local bylaws that restrict people entering the temple wearing Kodava attire, in Dec. The issue snowballed into a controversy, and the ball is in the court. An interim order was passed till Feb 26, and the next hearing will be on Feb 27.
