Ghaziabad: Three masked assailants looted fuel worth Rs 25,000 from an Indian Oil petrol pump named "On the Way 2 Ajay" located along the Delhi-Meerut Expressway during the early hours of Friday.
The armed trio arrived in a WagonR car around 1.45am and hit security guard Lala Chaudhary's head with a gun butt after he denied sharing the detail's about a locker.
They damaged the pump's office premises and made off with the automation equipment and LCD.
According to the pump supervisor, Bijendra, two of them entered the office and operated the machines, while one filled diesel worth Rs 19,915 and petrol worth Rs 5,142 into two different cans in the car.
According to the police, the petrol pump is owned by Ajay Bansal. Around 11.40pm on Thursday, the staff closed the pump and left, leaving guard Lala Chaudhary on duty.
Pump manager, Arun Chauhan, filed a complaint. Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered against the unknown persons under the BNS Section 309 (4) ( robbery).
ACP Mussoorie Siddharth Gautam stated that they received information about the robbery around 4.30am on Friday. Three teams have been formed to nab the accused, and CCTV footage of nearby areas are being checked to trace to accused.
