Lucknow: RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale on Friday emphasised that India has one culture, though its expressions may vary across regions. He was speaking at the book launch of folk singer Malini Awasthi in Lucknow. "This book has captured the folk life of the entire nation. Though my language is Kannada, when I read this book, it reminds me of the folk life there," he said.
Highlighting the importance of preserving culture through languages, songs, literature, and dialects, he said, "History is not only found in textbooks. The true history of common people is embedded in folk life and folk literature. What we learn as history often revolves around kings, emperors, wars, and victories, but it is in folk literature that we find stories of everyday life."
"In every region and language, there exists a deep sense of gratitude toward the motherland. Common people preserve culture through their dialects, which eventually take the form of written books," he added.
