Tehran: Senior General Ibrahim Jabari of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) has threatened to destroy Israel. He stated that Iran’s missile attack would annihilate Israel, obliterating major cities like Tel Aviv and Haifa from the face of the earth.

This is the third time in the past week that a senior Iranian military officer has threatened to destroy Israel under mission ‘Operation True Promise 3’. Israeli Foreign Minister has responded to Iran’s threat, escalating tensions between the two countries once again.

Tensions between Iran and Israel have been ongoing for a long time. Last year, the militaries of both countries also launched missile and aerial attacks against each other. There are concerns that the tensions between the two nations could lead to increased instability in the region.

According to Iranian media, General Ibrahim Jabbari has said that Operation True Promise 3 will be carried out with full accuracy at the right time. That would be enough to destroy Israel and turn Tel Aviv and Haifa to dust. General Jabbari, adviser to IRGC chief commander Hussein Salami, said this on Thursday, February 20, while addressing paramilitary forces during the exercise titled ‘The Great Exercise of Prophet Mohammad’s Power’.

Jabari also claimed that America’s attempts to harm Yemen will never succeed. He stated that the resistance fronts in Lebanon, Iraq, and Palestine are fully prepared. They will fight strongly against Israel and America. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has also ordered an increase in the country’s missile range.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon said on X that they take Iran’s threat seriously and are prepared to defend themselves. He stated that the Jewish people have learned from history that if your enemy talks about exterminating you, believe them. We are ready for any attack from Iran and will respond firmly if provoked.

In 2024, there were war-like situations between Iran and Israel on several occasions. The two also launched massive missile attacks on each other. However, neither side suffered much damage. On the other hand, the past year has not been very good for Iran. Its close allies have suffered setbacks in Syria and Lebanon. It has now emerged that Iran is recovering from the shocks of the past year and conducting military exercises and increasing its strength.
