AIIMS-like facilities for IMS-BHU: Nadda
Varanasi: Union health and family welfare minister JP Nadda chaired a meeting held here on Friday to discuss equipping the Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), BHU with facilities akin to AIIMS.
During the meeting, Nadda said the govt of India is committed to providing all necessary facilities to the IMS and assured that there is no shortage of funds for this purpose and emphasized the need for the institute to create short-term and long-term concrete plans based on priority. He highlighted the importance of enhanced capacity building for both the medical and paramedical staff, including the nursing staff. He stressed the need for working with quality as the top priority and also emphasized the need to expedite work on the hospital management system.
UP Minister Ravindra Jaiswal suggested promoting Jan Aushadhi centres to facilitate patients at IMS BHU and provide them with medicines at lower prices. The meeting was attended by UP Minister Dayashankar Mishra Dayalu, BHU acting VC Prof. Sanjay Kumar, Varanasi Commissioner Kaushalraj Sharma, IMS Director Dr S Shankhwar among others.
