V. Muraleedharan slams State government for ignoring ASHAs’ demands

Published - February 21, 2025 09:01 pm IST - Thrissur

V. Muraleedharan, former Union Minister, stated that the demands of the Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) should be considered, and that the State government’s approach of criticising them is condemnable.

Addressing the media here on Friday, he said that the State government should end its negative attitude towards the protesting ASHAs. When poor women are protesting on the streets, the LDF government is insulting them by giving lakhs of rupees to the PSC members and K. V. Thomas.

He said the CPI(M) is proving that it is a party of the wealthy, not the working class. The Chief Minister should have acknowledged the fact that the efforts of ASHAs during the COVID-19 pandemic ensured the continuity of the LDF government, he added.
