Hilton to Transform Athens Hospitality with Three New Hotels by 2026

Friday, February 21, 2025

Hilton announced today the upcoming expansion of its Athens portfolio, confirming franchise agreements with Aluma Greece IKE to open three new properties. The Adia Aluma Athens, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, and the Anise Aluma Athens, under the Tapestry Collection by Hilton, are both slated for a 2025 opening. Additionally, the Skylark Aluma Athens, also part of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is expected to welcome guests in 2026. These additions, introducing over 500 new guest rooms to the city, will enhance Hilton’s lifestyle hotel offerings within its Curio and Tapestry Collections.

Chris Nassetta, president and CEO, Hilton, said, “Hilton’s growth in Greece has accelerated tremendously in recent years, representing our ongoing confidence in its appeal as a leading destination for global travelers. More than 60 years since the opening of our first hotel in Athens, we are excited to build our presence in the city with these three hotels under our Curio and Tapestry brands. Having recently introduced the Hilton Garden Inn brand to the Greek capital, and with the forthcoming opening of Conrad Athens The Ilisian, we are thrilled to be working alongside Aluma Greece IKE to add a further 500 rooms to our Athens portfolio.”

Lior Raviv, CEO of Isrotel Hotel Chain, said, “We’re excited to be working with Hilton to bring three fantastic properties to the city of Athens. With growing international appeal for lifestyle hotels, we’re looking forward to introducing the Curio Collection by Hilton and Tapestry Collection by Hilton brands to Athens and welcoming guests to each of the properties.”

Situated near the rejuvenated Omonoia Square, the Adia Aluma Athens, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, will feature 215 rooms. The hotel will boast an array of amenities, including a restaurant, a lobby bar, and a rooftop bar, alongside wellness facilities that encompass two treatment rooms and a fitness studio. Omonoia Square, one of the oldest squares in Athens, has undergone significant revitalization in recent years, now hosting a vibrant mix of retail outlets, eateries, bars, and clubs.

The Skylark Aluma Athens, under the Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is another transformative project near Omonoia Square. This property will offer 191 rooms and is celebrated for its rooftop terrace that includes a bar, restaurant, rooftop pool, two meeting rooms, and a comprehensive wellness area with treatment rooms and gym facilities.

Scheduled to open in 2025, the Anise Aluma Athens, also part of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton, will add 99 rooms to Hilton’s portfolio. This new development will introduce the Tapestry brand to Evripidou Street, renowned for its lively atmosphere and eclectic shopping options. The hotel’s key facilities will include a restaurant, a rooftop bar and pool, one meeting room, and a gym.

All three properties are conveniently located with robust transportation links to Athens International Airport, which is 35km away.

These new additions—Adia Aluma Athens, Anise Aluma Athens, and Skylark Aluma Athens, all part of Hilton’s expanding Greek portfolio—will join 10 other operational Hilton hotels in Greece. These include the Chania Flair Boutique Hotel and Lindian Village All-Inclusive Resort Rhodes, both from the Curio Collection, and the Hilton Garden Inn Athens Syggrou Avenue, the first of its brand in Greece. Later this year, the Conrad Hotels & Resorts brand is set to make its Greek debut with the opening of Conrad Athens.
