Mahant dies in Bhilwara road accident

Bhilwara: Mahant Brahmpuri Maharaj (63) of Jaisalmer's Gulab Sagar monastery died in a road accident in Bhilwara Thursday. Bhilwara Mandal police station in-charge, Rajpal Singh, said that mahant was travelling in a car to attend a programme in Mandsaur from Mahakumbh. His car collided with a stationary container near Nanpura police post on the Bhilwara-Ajmer National Highway. He died on the spot, while the car driver, Ashok, was injured and admitted to the Mandal sub-district hospital for treatment. Mahant's body has been kept in the hospital morgue, awaiting family's arrival for autopsy on Friday.
