Panchkula: The Times of India, in collaboration with SBP Group and Panchkula police, conducted a traffic awareness activity on Thursday. The programme aimed to enlighten people about responsible driving practices, speed limit compliance, and the necessity of protective gear such as helmets and seat belts.
During the drive, the traffic police of Panchkula shared vital information about traffic rule compliance and strategies to reduce road fatalities. The initiative particularly emphasised pedestrian and cyclist safety, highlighting the significance of traffic signal adherence and vigilance.
The organisers distributed special mugs and chocolates to the attendees. Traffic police officials were available to provide guidance on safety equipment usage and clarify queries regarding road safety regulations.
Sukarpal, ACP (Traffic), Panchkula, addressed the gathering, stating, "Our goal is to ensure that everyone, from young children to adults, understands the importance of safe driving and pedestrian behaviour. Road accidents can be prevented if people follow traffic rules and stay aware of their surroundings."
