DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A man who worked at a Dorchester Road convenience store has been charged with lottery fraud.

Arrest warrants provided by state police show the employee, Christopher Alexander Konwai, 29, intentionally scratched off lottery tickets to see if they were winners. He then placed them back into the dispenser to be sold.

It happened on at least two occasions while Konwai worked at the Krishna of Summerville in November 2024.

Documents from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said it was captured on store surveillance video and store management was notified. The South Carolina Education Lottery then asked SLED to investigate.

Konwai was charged with attempting to influence a game by coercion and tampering with lottery tickets. He was booked into the Dorchester County Detention Center.
