Kidnapping bid on judicial magistrate’s daughter in Madhepura, cops clueless

Madhepura: A day after a kidnapping bid on the four-year-old daughter of a judicial magistrate of Madhepura civil court and snatching of the gold chain of his wife, police remained clueless on Friday about the identity of the criminals. The incident occurred near Circuit House on high-security VIP road on Thursday when judicial magistrate Manoj Kumar Pathak's wife, along with their daughter Gauri, was on way back to their official residence in the locality after visiting a doctor.
Bina Dubey, wife of judicial magistrate Pathak, had lodged an FIR in this connection with the Madhepura Town police on Thursday evening, stating two criminals on a bike drove near them and attempted to take the child with them. Dubey raised an alarm and freed the child from their clutches.
The criminals suddenly pounced on the gold chain of Dubey wore and snatched it. Before she could react, the criminals fled the spot with the snatched gold chain on the same motorcycle.
Police are investigating the incident, said Madhepura Town station house officer.
