Students from Wayanad, Lakshadweep visit HC; interact with judges, lawyers

Two batches of school students from Lakshadweep and Wayanad visited the Kerala High Court and interacted with judges and lawyers on Wednesday as part of the ‘Samvada’ programme aimed to provide them with an insight into Indian law and legal practices.

The programme was jointly organised by the Kerala State Legal Services Authority and the Lakshadweep State Legal Services Authority (LSLSA).

The students, who were offered a life skill session, also visited the Ernakulam Central Police Station.

They will visit the Kerala Judicial Academy and the National University for Advanced Legal Studies during the three-day programme. They will be taken to Fort Kochi, Hill Palace Museum, Abhayaranyam Animal Shelter, and the Kodanad Elephant Training Centre. The students travelled in the Kochi metro and Water Metro, according to a communication.

Chief Justice Nithin Madhukar Jamdar presented medals to the students.

Shoba Annamma Eapen, Bechu Kurian Thomas, and A. Muhamed Mustaque, judges of the Kerala High Court; Anil K. Bhaskar, District and Sessions Judge and Member Secretary, LSLSA; A. Jubiya, District Judge and Director, Kerala State Mediation and Conciliation Centre, and C.S. Mohit, District Judge and Member Secretary, Kerala State Legal Services Authority, were present.
