Pune GBS Outbreak: 21-Year-Old Student From Baramati Dies Due To GBS, Death Tally Reaches At 10 |

In the 10th case of death due to Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) in Pune, a 21-year-old girl, Kiran Rajendra Deshmukh, has died during treatment. Kiran had been battling GBS for over three weeks before passing away on Tuesday.

Kiran, a resident of Baramati, which is the constituency and hometown of Pune Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar, had been staying with relatives in the Sinhagad area for her education when she contracted the disease. The area has seen several cases of GBS, and Kiran was unfortunately infected as well. Initially, she experienced symptoms such as diarrhea and weakness, prompting her family to take her to Baramati, where she was examined by specialists.

Despite receiving treatment in Baramati, her condition did not improve. Based on her symptoms, the doctors suspected GBS and advised her family to admit her to a hospital in Pune for further treatment. Kiran was admitted on January 27, but her health deteriorated, and she passed away on Tuesday while still undergoing treatment.
