The State government has fixed March 31 as the deadline for registration of plots pending under the Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS).

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka at a review meeting in Secretariat on Wednesday on LRS directed the officials to expedite the process of registering the plots after the LRS approval. The meeting attended by Ministers — Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and D. Sridhar Babu saw the Deputy CM announcing 25% rebate on registration for the poor people.

The meeting decided to give some relief to the people, whose plots were pending under LRS and not registered. The Ministers noted that if in a layout 10% of the plots were already registered, the remaining 90% plots would also be registered under the LRS. All these plot owners will be eligible for the rebate, the meeting decided.

Mr. Bhatti urged the people, who were waiting for the regularisation to make use of the opportunity to get their plots registered. He cautioned officials to be careful while dealing with lands that are in the prohibited list. He wanted officials to act tough if attempts were made to misuse the LRS with regard to these prohibited lands. The Deputy CM asked the officials to make necessary arrangements in the Sub Registrar offices to register the plots.

The meeting was attended among others by Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, Principal Secretary (Finance) Sandeep Kumar Sultania, MAUD Principal Secretary Dana Kishore, Prinicipal Secretary (Revenue) Navin Mittal, Principal Secretary Industries Jayesh Ranjan, Stamps and Registration Commission Buddha Prakash Jyothi and Housing Managing Director Gautham.
