Family of temple incident victim claims her jewellery was stolen

The family of Thazhekkuni Leela, one of the three persons who were killed when two elephants went on the rampage during a festival at the Manakulangara Devi Temple in Koyilandy last week, filed a complaint with the police alleging that ornaments on her body were missing after it was released to relatives following the post-mortem examination.

The family claimed that the deceased was wearing a gold chain and earrings besides four gold bangles while she was taken to the medical college, but the authorities returned only the bangles when the body was released. However, a portion of the earring was found on the temple premises after the incident.
