Arunachal guv reviews security in Tirap, Changlang, Longding
Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh governor KT Parnaik has reviewed the security scenario of Tirap, Changlang, and Longding (TCL) at Khonsa in Tirap district.
Addressing officials of security agencies on Monday, governor Parnaik said a secure environment is essential for the development and progress of the people and the state. Highlighting the strategic importance of border security, he said every measure must be taken to safeguard the nation's interests and ensure the well-being of those residing in border areas, according to an official statement from Raj Bhavan on Tuesday.
The governor asserted that no external interference will be tolerated. Reaffirming the govt's commitment to protecting citizens from outside influence and intimidation, he warned anti-national elements of severe consequences.
He urged security forces to strengthen ties with villagers in remote border areas and support their essential needs through Sadbhavana projects, fostering trust and cooperation.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including director general of police Anand Mohan, TCL inspector general of police PN Khrimey, commander of 25 Sector Assam Rifles Brigadier Sarabjeet Singh, Tirap deputy commissioner Techu Aran, SPs of Tirap, Changlang, and Longding, and representatives from the Border Roads Organisation, Central Reserve Police Force, and Assam Rifles.
Earlier, Tirap SP Singjatla Singpho gave a presentation on security in the TCL region.
