NCP office-bearers, he was feeling exhausted because of his hectic schedule last week. The deputy chief minister was scheduled to attend an event at Savitribai Phule Govt Industrial Training Institute for Girls in Aundh on Monday morning, followed by a meeting. But his engagements were cancelled at the last moment.
Working president of the Pune unit of NCP, Pradeep Deshmukh, said, "Ajit Pawar had a hectic schedule last week. He travelled extensively to various parts of the state, held meetings for the portfolio he handles and addressed some rallies. He was feeling exhausted because of these and that is the reason why he cancelled all his engagements and decided to take rest at home."
According to NCP office-bearers, Ajit Pawar, also the finance minister, will present the state budget in the first week of March. Ahead of the assembly session, he will hold a series of meetings with officials of the finance department to finalise the state budget. "He (Ajit Pawar) is busy finalising the draft budget and constantly holding meetings for it. Apart from that, he also heads the party, which requires him to give time to party workers, resulting in a hectic schedule," one of the NCP office-bearers said.
