This country has maximum female to male ratio in...., not US, UK, India, China, Pakistan, European nations, the name is...

In 2023, Nepal saw a positive change in the Gender Parity Index (GPI) for higher education. The GPI increased by 0.1, or 9.01%, compared to the previous year, reaching its highest value of 1.2. This means that for every man enrolled in tertiary education, there are 1.2 women. The GPI is a measure of how many women are enrolled in higher education compared to men. It includes both public and private schools in Nepal, as per www.statista.com.

Over the past decade, Nepal has witnessed a significant shift in higher education, with more women enrolling in tertiary institutions than men. In the academic year 2012/13, female students made up approximately 47.8% of the total tertiary enrollment, while male students accounted for 52.2%. By 2019/20, this trend had reversed, with women comprising 52.99% and men 47.01% of the student population.

This change is further highlighted by the Gender Parity Index (GPI), which measures the ratio of female to male students. In 2013, Nepal’s GPI was 0.98, indicating slightly fewer women than men in tertiary education. By 2023, the GPI had risen to 1.20, meaning there are now 1.2 women for every man in higher education.

The overall number of students in higher education has also grown. In 2010/11, there were 407,934 students enrolled, which increased to 460,826 by 2020/21. Notably, female enrollment saw a 42% rise during this period, from 170,516 to 242,103.

The GPI measures the ratio of women to men enrolled in colleges and universities, including both public and private institutions. This increase shows that more women are joining higher education in Bangladesh, reflecting progress toward gender equality in education.

Female to male ratio in tertiary education in Pakistan

In 2023, the female to male ratio in tertiary education in Pakistan was 0.95945, meaning there were 0.95945 females for every 1 male. This ratio is based on the gender parity index (GPI) for gross enrollment ratio in tertiary education. The GPI is the ratio of women to men enrolled in public and private schools.

In Pakistan, women in rural areas are discouraged from attending school. This is because they are brought up in conservative families with little to no education. They also have to work harder than women in urban areas because they have little support system.
