Truck mows down 19-yr-old on SP Ring Road

Ahmedabad: A 19-year-old mason was killed and his cousin injured on Sunday morning when a truck hit their scooter near the Bakrol toll plaza on SP Ring Road. Bhavesh Solanki, a Gulbai Tekra resident, and his cousin Bharat Dharmani were on their way to a lake site in Bakrol village when the accident occurred.
In his complaint filed with Aslali police, Dharmani said that Solanki was driving, and they had just approached the service road after the toll plaza at around 10.15am when the truck hit them. They were thrown off their vehicle.
Solanki, who was bleeding from the mouth and nose, had injuries to his chest and suffered fractured limbs, was declared dead. Dharmani was injured in the knee and elbow. The impact caused both to be thrown off their vehicle.
Eyewitnesses reported that the truck driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. Aslali police have impounded the truck and have launched a search for the driver.TNN
