Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav Hints at Travel Restrictions
Buldhana: Amid a rise in Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) cases, Union minister of state for AYUSH, Prataprao Jadhav, hinted at the possibility of travel restrictions in affected areas if the disease is found to be contagious.
"Considering the increase in GBS cases, Union health minister JP Nadda and Maharashtra's health ministry are on high alert. If the disease is spreading from one region to another, imposing travel restrictions may become necessary. Discussions between the central and state health departments are ongoing to address the situation," he said while addressing the media in Buldhana.
He further stated that the central government would soon convene a high-level meeting to discuss the issue. The health department is actively exploring measures to prevent the spread of the disease.
"The health department is also conducting an in-depth study to understand its nature and causes," he added.
