Man killed over land dispute; father and two brothers among 6 held
Hyderabad: A property dispute has led to a deadly murder in Jogulamba district, with six individuals arrested, including the victim's father, two brothers, and three others allegedly hired to commit the crime. The victim's mother, also a suspect, is currently absconding.
On Feb 12, Sandyapogu Chandrakala from Tanagala village reported her husband Sandyapogu Ramesh's death to Shantinagar police. She suspected foul-play and pointed fingers at her in-laws, claiming that Ramesh had ongoing disputes over division of property. The couple had been returning from a court hearing when the crime occurred.
According to police, Ramesh and his father-in-law, Sudhakar, were struck by a car while riding their two-wheeler. As they fell, Ramesh was fatally attacked with a knife, while Sudhakar managed to escape.
The arrested individuals include Ramesh's brothers, Sandyapogu Maheshwar and Gopi, and his father, Sandyapogu Krishnanna. Additionally, Boya Narasimlu and Boya Nagendra and Bandameedhi Thimappa was also arrested. Police recovered the car and weapons used in the crime. The victim's mother, Sandyapogu Theemulamma, remains on the run.
Jogulamba Gadwal district superintendent of police T Srinivas Rao commended the police team for swiftly solving the case and arresting the suspects within 48 hours, on Feb 14.
