SCR RPF saved over 100 children last month

SCR’s RPF has rescued 91 children, including 70 boys and 21 girls, lost/separated from their families and later handed them over to the child welfare committees last month. Another six boys and seven girls were saved from over 14 traffickers, said an official release on Saturday.

It also arrested 34 offenders and recovered stolen property worth ₹71.26 lakh with the registration of 30 cases, retrieved 264 belongings of passengers valued ₹60.8 lakh and handed over them to rightful owners. Ganja valued at ₹21.16 lakh was seized with the arrest of 12 persons and handed over to the agency concerned.

Liquor worth ₹85,348 being transported illegally through trains was seized and subsequently handed over to the excise department who registered four cases against the unknown offenders. One male passenger was rescued from the jaws of death, said a press release.
