Youth arrested for raping minor girl in Bhojpur

Ara: Police on Saturday arrested a youth accused of raping a minor girl in Bhojpur district.
According to the FIR lodged on Friday by the girl in the presence of her mother, the incident occurred at about 8pm on Wednesday at her village.
The arrested accused, a co-villager and an acquaintance of the girl, called her on phone and tried to forcibly take her to a nearby village. When she resisted his act, the accused dragged her to his empty house and raped her.
The SHO told the reporters on Saturday, "As soon as the police were informed about the rape of a minor girl, the accused was arrested. The statement of the rape victim was also recorded in the court under Section 183 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita."
In the FIR, the girl stated that she had been knowing the accused for the last one year. She alleged that the accused gave her false assurance of marrying her and sexually abused her on several occasions prior to her rape on Wednesday. Further investigation is going on in the case, said the SHO.
