Kanpur dominates state volleyball championship

Kanpur: Host Kanpur triumphed over Chitrakoot by 2-0 in the inaugural match of open state invitation senior women volleyball championship being held at Green Park on Saturday.
In other matches, Sultanpur defeated Varanasi, Jhansi overcame Chitrakoot, and Siddharth Nagar prevailed over Ayodhya by identical margins (2-0). All matches are being contested on best of three basis.
Women Cricket: Dam Chargers secured victory against Rage XI by 4 wickets in Vth Raj Ratan Women league at Kamla Club ground on Saturday.
Rage XI, batting first, scored 169 runs in 35 overs. Babita Yadav and Neha Verma were their principal scorers, contributing 31 and 54 not out runs respectively. Dam Chargers achieved the target of 170 runs for 6 wickets in 34.3 overs. Shivi Singh crafted an excellent innings of 78 runs. Anjali Rawat scored 45 runs for winners.
