Man ‘looted’ of Rs 2L days before daughter’s wedding
Silchar: With his daughter's wedding just 10 days away, one Samiran Das, from an interior village in Suprakandi, has been allegedly looted of Rs 2 lakh on Friday evening.
According to Das, he withdrew Rs 1.5 lakh from the Sribhumi main post office and had put it inside a bag, but found the entire amount had been stolen after reaching home. He had also supposedly taken a loan of Rs 50,000 from one his friends, which too had gone missing.
Narrating his ordeal, Das said he boarded an e-rickshaw to go to the bus stand, after coming out of the post office, along with two other women & three kids. He claimed that once seated, the women started pushing him and in the process managed to take out the money from his bag without making him aware.
Das further said that while the women got down with his money, he was completely unaware of the incident and instead shopped for a while at Sribhumi town, before reaching home. And that's when he received a huge shock.
Das said he immediately rushed back to Sribhumi town and filed an FIR at Sadar police station.
"The woman sitting on my right kept pushing me. I am sure she must have stolen my money. While coming from Suprakandi, I took a loan of Rs 50,000 from one of my friends and had put it inside my bag. I withdrew Rs 1.5 lakh from the post office. Somehow these thieves managed to target me and were successful," claimed Das.
