The Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) on Saturday advised universities and affiliated colleges to revise syllabus of undergraduate courses and be able to implement the changes from the 2025-26 academic year.

This follows the council’s meeting with the committee comprising subject experts, Board of Studies of universities in the State, and a review of the undergraduate curriculum.

It discussed the framework for undergraduate programmes and its implications for the B.Sc syllabus as per the present trend related to industries for employability. The committee reminded that a comprehensive revision of the curriculum was in line with the State government’s priority to update syllabus to enhance employability skills.

It was proposed that the credit system template be prepared for 150 credits in view of the national competitive exams. Further, for seminars one credit should be given instead of two credits and for projects and internships five credits should be given instead of four.

The committee also said faculty development programmes like orientation programmes and workshops should be conducted at the university level and the State council will provide the required financial assistance.
