Jammu: On Saturday, February 15, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha suspended three government employees, including a police constable, a teacher, and a forest department following an investigation that confirmed their links to terrorism.

This move comes days after LG Sinha pledged strict action against those aiding terror activities in the union territories.

According to a report by NDTV, the terminated employees are identified as Firdous Ahmad Bhat, a J&K police constable who was arrested in May 2024; Nisar Ahmad Khan, an orderly at the forest range office; and Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, a teacher lodged in a district prison.

Earlier this week, LG Sinha chaired two security review meetings in the Jammu division after a series of incidents along the Line of Control (LoC).

In a meeting on February 13, LG Sinha urged officials to intensify efforts to eliminate terrorism and dismantle its local networks. Taking to X, he wrote, "We need to take strongest possible action against those providing logistical and financial support to terrorism. Make sure that acts of individuals or groups trying to create fear in the society are termed as terrorist action and they should be punished as per the law."

"Every perpetrator & supporter of terrorism must pay the price. We need to equip ourselves with credible intelligence & act more effectively to neutralise the terrorists and ensure the security of citizens. We must be prepared for conventional as well as non-conventional threats," he added.

Earlier on February 12, LG Sinha in another meeting, instructed officials to enforce a "zero-tolerance policy" against terrorism. He also stated that J&K police and security forces have been given full authority to dismantle the covert terror network.
