In a move aimed at raising awareness about academic and career opportunities among tribal students, the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Bhadrachalam, initiated a career guidance programme for students of Ashram High Schools (AHSs) and tribal gurukuls in Bhadrachalam Agency of Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
The programme envisages display of charts detailing an array of higher education opportunities and emerging career options available for students. The initiative has been launched to enable the tribal students to make informed choices in selecting the courses of their choice after SSC, Intermediate and Degree, ITDA sources said.
The charts will help the students gain an insight into various entrance and competitive exams to successfully pursue their academic and career goals.
ITDA, Bhadrachalam, Project Officer, B. Rahul, on Friday launched the career guidance programme at the Ashram High School for girls in Bhadrachalam town.
Plans are afoot to implement the programme in all the 60 Ashram High Schools and 12 tribal gurukuls in the erstwhile composite Khammam district to disseminate academic and career-related information to tribal students.
