Guwahati: Assam govt has approved 2.5 lakh business proposals and is reshaping its policies to become a 10-lakh crore economy, said chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Singapore on Thursday.
Sarma, who concluded his three-day Singapore visit to promote the Advantage Assam 2.0 investment and infrastructure summit, participated in meetings and discussions with govt and industry leaders.
Sarma pointed to several factors like simplicity, efficiency and transparency that helped the govt in ensuring ease of doing business in the state. Inviting investors in Singapore to invest in Assam, he said the govt has so far approved 2.5 lakh business proposals through the single window clearance system.
"Simplicity, Efficiency, Transparency – our mantra to ensure Ease of Doing Business in Assam. We have so far approved 2.5 lakh business proposals through our single window clearance system! Come invest in Assam, invest in a bright future," wrote the Assam CM on X.
He also spoke about Assam's resources and geographical position and the state's trajectory in becoming one of India's most developed states. Sarma further expressed confidence that govt will soon deliver three projects — Numaligarh expansion, Tata semiconductor facility and Namrup fertilizer union — to move the business sentiment in Assam's favour.
During his visit, the CM also met and interacted with caregivers from Assam.
