Kurubur Shanthakumar injured in an accident

President of the State Sugarcane Cultivators Association, Kurubur Shanthakumar, sustained injuries in a road accident in Punjab on Friday.

Mr. Shanthakumar, along with a few other farmers’ leaders, was travelling in a vehicle to Chandigarh to take part in a meeting convened by government officials with members of Samyuka Kisan Morcha led by Jagjit Singh Dallewal. The accident took place at around 5 p.m.

Mr. Shanthakumar was shifted to a multi-specialty hospital in Patiala for treatment, according to the association.
