The Kurla police on Thursday registered a case against a 44-year-old businessman from Mulund for allegedly stalking a woman on a local train. The woman claimed that he had stalked her on February 10 and 12 as well, and she had recorded videos of the incidents. The police have issued a notice to him.

According to the police, on February 13, around 8.15am, a 25-year-old woman was travelling on a local train towards CSMT in the first-class general compartment.

At Mulund station, the accused boarded the same compartment and stood close to her seat. When the seat opposite her became vacant, he sat there. The woman alleged that he constantly stared at her. She confronted him, but he responded by saying that she was like a daughter to him. At Masjid station, she made him get off the train and reported the matter to GRP personnel on the platform.

The case was initially registered at CSMT GRP and later transferred to Kurla GRP. The woman works in South Mumbai and commutes daily on a Central Railway local train from Thane.
