Agartala: In a shocking incident, burglars target a camp office of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Tripura's Agartala. The theft surfaced on February 11 when CBI officials visited the office at the Shyamali Bazar quarter complex, reported NDTV.
Notably, Shyamali Bazar is a highly protected area. Apart from files and valuable things, the robbers also doors, windows, steel almirahs, chairs and electric appliances. The office reportedly remained closed for five months. The recovery process took place in the presence of an executive magistrate.
CBI Inspector Anurag filed a complaint. An investigation was then launched into the robbery. Two suspects were initially arrested by the police. They have been identified as Biplab Debbarma and Raju Bhowmik.
Later the police arrested four more people from the adjoining Shyamali Bazar and Khejur Bagan areas, reported NDTV.
The police managed to recover eight steel almirahs, four windows, a geyser and chairs. The arrested men will be produced before the court.
As per IANS, a few of the detainees are also drug addicts. The police are carrying out a detailed investigation to find out if there is involvement of anti-social elements in the robbery.
