Youth’s body found near pond in Chatra, probe on

Chatra: The body of a youth was found near a temple adjacent to Purainia pond under Sadar police station in Chatra on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Chhotu Rana (25), from Deepa Mohalla Badhai Tola. According to family members, Chhotu had recently returned from Odisha.
Police sent the body to Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The presence of severe injury marks on the victim's face and body indicated that Chhotu might have been murdered.
His brother Anil Rana said Chhotu had dinner and left home at 8 pm on Wednesday, stating he would return soon. "However, he never came, and his body was discovered in the morning. My brother had been working as a carpenter in Odisha for the last four months," he said.
Police said they have begun a probe, including reviewing CCTV footage from nearby cameras for some breakthrough. Chhotu's mobile records are also being checked.
