BUIDCO MD inspects urban infra projects in city
Patna: Managing director of Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (BUIDCO), Yogesh Kumar Sagar, on Tuesday inspected various development projects. These included the Digha-Kankarbagh sewage treatment plant (STP) and network plan under the Namami Gange, the proposed Mandiri STP, riverfront development, and the multi-level car parking near Mauryalok. The project director, contractors, and other engineers were also present during the inspection.
Being developed at a cost of Rs 1,187.86 crore, the Digha-Kankarbagh STP will have a capacity of treating 100 MLD (million litres per day) sewage water. A 303-km-long sewage network will have two sewage pumping stations. The first will have a discharge capacity of 104 MLD, and a sewage pumping station B with a capacity of 103 MLD.
In the Digha STP and sewage network project, it is proposed to tap the wastewater from Rajpur Pul drain and Mandiri drain near the under-construction SPS-A and treat the wastewater at Digha STP. In this regard, the MD visited SPS-A near Pahalwan Ghat and SPS-B in Atal Path and instructed the officials concerned to complete the work on time with safety.
Sagar said, "This project will treat the wastewater discharge from 18,808 households in Kankarbagh and 32,248 households in the Digha area at the STP before discharging it into the Ganga."
The MD said under the Ganga Riverfront Development project in Patna, 16 ghats have been constructed over a length of 5.5 km from Collectorate Ghat to Raja Ghat. "The general public is utilising these facilities. To enhance civic amenities, it is proposed to connect the newly constructed ghat with a length of 425 metres to the east of Sabhyata Dwar," he said, and instructed the team to prepare a detailed project report.
About the multi-level car parking near Mauryalok, Sagar said approximately 85% of the project work is completed. "The installation of all types of equipment is completed. The project is progressing towards completion," he said.
