Teen arrested for killing mother’s lover, dumping his body in Wazirabad
New Delhi: A 16-year-old boy was apprehended on Monday for allegedly killing his mother's lover and disposing of his body in a pond inside a park in east Delhi's Ghazipur.
According to police, the accused, enraged over his mother's alleged relationship, killed her lover by hitting him with a brick. He planned and executed the murder with a friend.
"We received a PCR call on Monday at Ghazipur police station about a man's body found in Smriti Van Park's lake. Teams were rushed to the spot immediately and discovered the partially submerged body of a 24-year-old man, later identified as Rahul Singh Bisht from Uttarakhand. He had multiple head injuries," DCP (east) Abhishek Dhania said.
Forensic teams collected evidence, and the body was sent to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. A murder case was subsequently registered.
"Four teams from Ghazipur police station were deployed, and via analysis of CCTV footage and CDRs during the probe, the team found that the victim was in regular contact with a woman," DCP Dhania said.
Upon questioning, she admitted to being in a two-year relationship with the deceased. She revealed that Rahul visited her house intoxicated the night before and created a scene. Unable to control the situation, she asked her son to drop him home, he added.
Police said the teenager was apprehended and, during questioning, confessed that instead of taking Rahul home, he and his friend took him to Smriti Van Park. They attacked him with a brick, killing him on the spot, then threw the murder weapon and the body into the pond before fleeing. Both teenagers were caught while trying to escape the city.
In another incident, a 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death in northeast Delhi's Seelampur on Sunday. Police found him lying in a pool of blood in Gautampuri with multiple stab wounds. A case under section 103 (murder) of BNS was registered, and further investigation is underway.
