People use QR codes to send their feedback to higher authorities

Hyderabad:When you face any difficulties at the police station while lodging a complaint, you can now scan the QR code installed at the police station to provide feedback to senior police officials. An SP rank officer from the Crime Investigation Department (CID), who monitors citizen feedback, will take up your issue with the respective station house officers.

Days after Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender launched the Citizen Feedback system by installing QR codes in all police stations across Telangana to collect citizen feedback, a massive response was recorded. The Ramagundam Police Commissionerate topped the list in sending feedback to police officials, followed by Hyderabad and Cyberabad. In rural areas, citizens from Mulugu sent the highest number of feedback reports to CID officials.

CID chief Shikha Goel stated that they received a positive response from citizens and would further improve the initiative by expanding it to more rural areas. If a citizen is unable to scan the QR code installed at the police station, they can also call the police officials and report their feedback about police services in Telangana.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Maddipati Srinivas from CID, who is handling the citizen feedback system, reported that 70 per cent of the responses from citizens were positive regarding policing and services offered at police stations. At least five per cent of the feedback was negative, and necessary measures were taken to address these concerns by coordinating with the concerned SHO.

Srinivas further stated that the highest number of feedback submissions came from the Ramagundam Police Commissionerate, followed by Hyderabad and Cyberabad. Within a month, they reached citizens in urban areas and will now focus on rural regions. Additionally, SHOs of all police stations in districts have been instructed to encourage citizens to submit their feedback by scanning QR codes and expressing their views on policing.

The police officials launched the feedback system to allow citizens to share their opinions on five key areas: lodging complaints, FIR registration, traffic e-Challans, passport verifications, and other services. In every police station, SHOs must ensure that QR codes are installed in five different locations within the premises to familiarize citizens with the system.
