A court here awarded life imprisonment to three persons in a murder case on Monday.

According to prosecution, N. Arulraj, 46, of Meenakshipuram near Marudhamputhur under Mukkoodal police station limits was working as the car driver for R. Ramaiah, 35, of the same area. When Arulraj failed to repay the loan he had taken from Ramaiah, enmity developed between them.

Against this backdrop, Arulraj, his friends Thamarai Selvan, 29, Sundar, 27, Kannan, 33, Ravi Esakki, 38, and Ramesh, 34, murdered Ramaiah when he was in his farm on April 5, 2018.

Fourth Additional Sessions Judge Robinson George awarded life imprisonment to Arulraj, Thamarai Selvan and Sundar, and acquitted Kannan, Ravi Esakki and Ramesh as the prosecution failed to prove the charges against them.
