The second ODI between India and England in Cuttack saw the return of Virat Kohli to the line-up as the star batter replaced Yashasvi Jaiswal. With Rohit Sharma announcing at the toss about Kohli's return to the playing eleven, the crowd at the stadium roared as a video of the same surfaced on social media.

The first ODI against England on Thursday in Nagpur proved to be the first international game that Kohli has missed out on for the since 2022 due to injury-related reasons. According to media reports, the 36-year-old had suffered a knee injury while travelling to Nagpur, forcing the think tank to keep him out of the opening match.

Nevertheless, the Delhi-born cricketer had made appearances on the ground, having fun interactions with teammate Hardik Pandya and Kevin Pietersen following India's four-wicket win. Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal made way for Kohli as the Men in Blue look to seal the series in Cuttack. The home side also carried out one more change, giving Varun Chakravarthy his first ODI cap as the leg-spinner replaced Kuldeep Yadav.
