AIADMK disappearing from people’s mind, says CM Stalin

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday said the AIADMK, had been exhausted by a series of electoral defeats and lacked the capacity to face the elections.

“It is gradually disappearing from the minds of people,” he said in a statement on the party’s victory in the Erode East Assembly by-election.

He said its defeat in the Lok Sabha polls since 2019, the Assembly elections in 2021, local body polls the AIADMK had faced a series of defeats and failed to participate in the Vikravandi by-election. “It cowered from the election scene in Erode because the people there were waiting to teach it a fitting lesson,” he said.

Mr Stalin said the victory was people’s recognition for the welfare and progressive schemes of the DMK government. “People know that every family is being benefitted from these schemes,” he said.
