Pune: A 34-year-old cab driver died after an MSRTC bus hit him while he was alighting from his vehicle at parking number 3 in Sangamwadi around 9.45pm on Thursday.
Police identified the deceased as Amit Shinde (34) from Matenagar in Dhayari. The Yerawada police booked the MSRTC bus driver on the charge of causing the cab driver's death due to negligence.

The victim's brother, Sagar Shinde (37), in his complaint said Amit ferried passengers in the cab from Warje to Sangamwadi on Thursday night. According to eyewitnesses, the bus hit Amit after he opened the cab's door and was getting down from the vehicle. According to Sagar's complaint, the MSRTC (Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation) bus driver coming from behind lost control over the vehicle and hit Amit.
Sagar said his brother succumbed to serious injuries on the head, chest and legs. The victim's body was handed over to his elder brother after performing a postmortem at Sassoon General Hospital.
A police officer said the bus was impounded for RTO inspection. A notice was issued to the driver, asking him to join the police in the investigation, he added.
