Coimbatore: It's time to immerse in the beauty of colourful flowers and floral structures. All you need to do is to visit the botanical garden at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), where ministers M R K Panneerselvam and V Senthilbalaji inaugurated the seventh edition of Covai Flower Show on Saturday.
Around one lakh flowers are on display at the show.

Another highlight is floral structures of a rabbit eating carrot, swans, elephants, Saraswathi, Mickey Mouse, bear and a spinning top. To top it up, there are 12 floral arches as well. People of all ages were seen taking photos with the floral structures.
Fruit and vegetable shows are also part and parcel of the event. Major attractions include a bonsai garden and display of vegetable carvings. There is a separate gallery as well to raise awareness about herbal plants. Added attraction is cultural events.
"More than 50 types of flowers, 100 varieties of indoor plants and around 50 varieties of cacti are on display," a TNAU official said.
G Dhanasekar, a visitor from Kanuvai, said, "This is my first visit to the Covai Flower Show. The floral structures are the main attractions. Art stalls by artists are also impressive."
Around 100 police personnel are deployed at the venue to ensure the safety of visitors. The show will remain open to the public till February 12 from 8am to 8pm. The entry fee is Rs100 for adults and Rs50 for children.
