Kanpur: Host Uttar Pradesh will clash with Jharkhand in the quarter-final tie of Col CK Nayudu trophy at the Green Park stadium from February 10 to February 13.
Both teams remain undefeated in the league phase, promising an intense battle for the semifinal berth over the next four days. UP topped group B with four victories in seven matches, accumulating 87 points, while Jharkhand secured runner-up position in their pool with 65 points.UP dominated their final league match, defeating Nagaland by an innings and 236 runs. Jharkhand similarly prevailed in their last league encounter, overwhelming Bihar by an innings and 97 runs.
Both squads arrived in the city on February 7 and are diligently practising at the nets. UP, being the host, possesses intimate knowledge of the Green Park wicket's characteristics. Meanwhile, Jharkhand's coach and manager are endeavouring to understand the pitch behaviour.
UP's batting strength lies with Captain Aaradhya Yadav, Sameer Rizvi, Swastik Chikara, Aaradhya Yadav and Adarsh Singh, all having notched centuries during the league phase. Their bowling arsenal comprises Kumal Tyagi, Shubham, Rohit, Parasnath and Vijay, who have consistently claimed wickets.
