The launch date of the smartphone in India has now been formally revealed by Vivo. The device is a rebranded Vivo S20, which made its debut in China in November 2024, according to previous leaks that alluded to its anticipated characteristics.
In an X post, the company stated that the Vivo V50 will launch in India on February 17 at 12 p.m. IST. In addition to the Vivo India e-store, Flipkart and Amazon will formally offer the phone online. The phone will be available in Rose Red, Starry Blue, and Titanium Grey colour variants, according to official teasers.
According to the business, the Vivo V50 will have AI-powered photo capture and editing capabilities like Erase 2.0 and Light Portrait 2.0 in addition to AI-powered features like Circle to Search, Transcript Assist, and Live Call Translation. The Vivo V50 will include a quad-curved display and a 6,000mAh battery, according to Vivo’s confirmation.
It has been verified that the phone supports 90W wired fast charging. With a 6,000mAh battery, the company says it will be the thinnest smartphone in the market. It also reportedly satisfies IP68 and IP69 standards for water and dust resistance. It has been confirmed that the Vivo V50 would have two back cameras.
It will have a 50-megapixel OIS-capable primary sensor and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with Aura Light. In contrast, the front camera will include a 50-megapixel sensor for video calls and selfies. The Vivo V50 will include a quad-curved screen with FuntouchOS 15, which is based on Android 15. According to earlier sources, a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC is most likely to power the phone.
It is anticipated to be available with 12GB + 512GB of RAM and storage. It should also support the addition of 12GB of virtual RAM.
