Delhi Election Results 2025: BJP leader Satish Upadhyay has defeated incumbent AAP MLA Somnath Bharti from the Malviya Nagar Assembly Constituency, even as Meghnad S, a popular YouTuber who was contesting as an independent candidate, failed to make any substantial impact, securing a grand total of just 192 votes.

Meghnad S, dubbed ‘India’s first YouTuber Neta’, is a journalist and popular social media personality, boasting nearly 2 lakh followers on X (formerly Twitter), and over 81,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel ‘meghnerd’, was running as an independent candidate from the Malviya Nagar constituency.

The 35-year-old had ran a small campaign with his tiny group of followers, stating that he wants to give Delhi a “normie (normal) neta”, instead of the regular politicians, and had also released a campaign song titled ”Dilli ka Normie Neta’, with the slogan “Pen Chuno, Kaam Dekho (Choose pen [his poll symbol) and see the work)”.

While many have trolled Meghnad for “failing miserably” in his maiden electoral outing, others pointed out that the ‘YouTuber Neta’ had clearly stated he was contesting polls merely to review the election process, and find out whether an average Joe can actually stand in elections.

“I take pride in being an independent candidate. My primary goal is to prove a point: hyper-local leaders can best address local issues. My only boss is YOU, the people of Malviya Nagar,” Meghnad S had told The Times of India in a recent interview.

On the eve of Delhi Election Results, when Exit Polls started flooding news channels, Meghnad S, put out a video on his YouTube channel titled “How to Lose an election in 10 days”.

Meghnad had dubbed his electoral “experiment” as “Project Anda” signifying that he had zero chance of winning or even getting any votes as he himself had admitted on multiple occasion on his YouTube channel.
