Patiala: Fatehgarh Sahib police have successfully dismantled an interstate drug network, arresting six people from Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.
The police seized 256,846 pharmaceutical tablets, 21,364 drug injections, and 738 vials of Avil. A case has been registered under sections 22-C/61/85 of the NDPS Act.
SSP Ravjot Grewal said a thorough investigation, using digital tools, led to the arrest of key suspects involved in the trafficking operation. The network spanned from Uttar Pradesh to Punjab via Haryana.
"On Jan 27, the CIA Sirhind team arrested accused Parvinder Singh from Cholta Khurd village, SAS Nagar, recovering a large quantity of drugs. Parvinder Singh, both a drug addict and supplier, used to procure the drugs from Sahil in Yamunanagar (Haryana) and supply them in Fatehgarh Sahib and Mohali," said police. On Jan 29, Sahil was arrested in Yamunanagar with drugs. He revealed that he sourced the drugs from Pankaj Chaudhary, a resident of Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Following this, police raided Saharanpur and arrested Pankaj and his partner Shubham, recovering a large stock of drugs from an illegal warehouse. Further raids led to the arrest of Abdul alias Wajid in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. On Feb 4, two more suspects, Shahid and Wasim, were arrested in Meerut, leading to another raid where more drugs were seized.
The police have seized several vehicles, including a car, bike, and scooter. The police said that accused Parvinder, Sahil, and Wasim have a criminal past, with cases registered against them.
