Karnataka BJP and NDA leaders have hailed the party’s thumping victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, attributing it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and governance.

Former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa called it a “historic victory” for the BJP in Delhi after 27 years. “This resounding win is a symbol of unwavering public trust in PM Modi ji’s leadership and commitment to good governance. Delhi has reaffirmed its faith in BJP, just as it did in the Lok Sabha elections,” he said on X.

The BJP held celebrations at its head office in Bengaluru, in which State president B.Y. Vijayendra and and Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly R. Ashok also participated.

JD(S) leader and Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy took to X and said: “This mandate reaffirms trust in strong leadership, economic growth, and national security. Grateful to the karyakartas and citizens for their unwavering support. Bharat moves forward with confidence — Viksit Bharat is our destiny.”

Meanwhile, the implementation of the Karnataka Congress government’s five guarantees, which were showcased in advertisements in the media and speeches of leaders during the poll campaign in Delhi, seem to have failed to resonate. Like in the 2020 Assembly elections, in this elections too, the Congress failed to open its account.

KPCC chief and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar was among the Congress’s star campaigners in Delhi. He held a press conference and campaigned for the party in Delhi for a couple of days. On behalf of the party, Mr. Shivakumar had announced a ‘Pyari Didi Yojana’, promising a monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500 to women if voted to power in Delhi.
